There are many things to do in Ireland's County Kilkenny. A land of gentle rolling hills, rural villages and rivers, the county is an ideal place to relax and explore.

Kilkenny City

In the county's largest city you climb atop Kilkenny Castle or marvel at Saint Canice's Cathedral. Sample local cuisine, light a candle at Saint Mary's Cathedral, or check out the Black Abbey.

Discovery Park

Located in Castlecomer, Discovery Park is dedicated to the region's history as a center for coal mining. After spending the morning at the park, drive down the scenic back roads to the sleepy village of Clogh.

Mount Juliet Estate


Can't afford to stay at this exquisite property? No problem! You can enjoy hiking trails, fine dining, and horseback riding any day of the week. It boats a world class equestrian center and 16 miles of bridle paths for trail riding. Trail rides are offered daily between 10:00am and 3:30pm.

Inistioge


When you arrive in this picturesque village, you may expect magical leprechauns to be found hiding behind the trees. The backdrop of several movies, this 18th century village is a star in its own right. Inistioge is a must see for any traveler to County Kilkenny.

Dunmore Cave

Stand in awe of centuries old calcite formations in this large underground cavern. One and half hour tours take you to the 150 feet foot deep cave floor. As of 2009, adult admission is EUR 2.75. Open mid-March through mid-October.
