Ideas for ski holiday in Guarda, Switzerland

Guarda is a world-renown mountain resort among Switzerland ski resorts with its unique traditional architecture and extraordinary natural surroundings. The hospitable village is perched high above the Engadine valley and boasts to be the most beautiful place in the Lower Engadine, part of the canton Graubünden in Eastern Switzerland. Its narrow roads, tall stone houses with sgraffito-decorated facades, doors and windows lend additionally to its charm – a reason Guarda to be distinct with awards. During winter, skiers can discover wonderful ski tracks, lovely winter walking trails, a sledding track and a 70km cross-country ski track in the valley linking Giarsun with Maloja. There are fantastic tours all the way into the Silvretta region, as well as Klosters and Davos area, reachable within 30 minutes via rail or car. Summertime is also a good season to discover the lovely walking tours amongst magnificent flora and fauna in the beautiful scenery.
Those, who love nature and are not followers of skiing sports, can choose between rafting on the fast flowing waters of the river Inn, hiking along the Engadine panorama trail, downhill biking or trekking on horseback. No matter the season and your sport preferences, you can indulge into the relaxing world of spa bathing. Guarda offers you variety of opportunities for your leisure time: to choose among the wide selection of culinary temptations, attend an open- air movie or a church concert. You can also take a tour to the neighbouring villages Ardez and Ftan, which both worth a visit.
