Well a six three loss for the Colorado Avalanche out in Steel town this evening, almost a mirror
image of what happened less than one week and it started early with the Guentzel goal
of the skate.
It seems like a lifetime ago this goal was scored but yeah was it kicked in, wasn't it?
Now is a good goal he angled his skate, was on the ice, they're up one nothing.
And of course the Avs can not challenge that, that has to be reviewed by the NHL.
It was Malkin with the wrister to make it two nothing later on.
Yeah he just scoops up the loose rebound here, just kind a chips it far side.
You gotta appreciate how fast that play happened.
Malkin with some genius hands there looked just like the Avs offense there halfway into the first
there you go the bomb Brassard actually the
bomb from Matta, the textbook redirect by Brassard, that's heavily buttery right there
tic-tac-toe guys work on plays like that.
Beautiful goal by Brassard.
The concentration required for a play like that just baffles me.
Into the second period.
Avs on the power play.
Welcome back Tyson Barrie.
Love seeing this kid in the Action.
The Avs back in the game.
Just a beautiful shot, posted in Tyson Barrie.
Good to see ya back in the Line-up.
Just over a minute later, turnover there in the neutral zone look at Matt Nieto, works
over to Ian Cole, the former Pittsburgh Penguin, hard work down low Carl and we also have Matt
Calvert on that one.
Look at Calver just putting everything into that and there is Carl just scooping up the
loose change we're back in it.
No big deal Avs trail by one here we talk about that big blocked shot there from Gabriel
Bourque, Nietsy as they call him.
What a goal, shows you what good of a skater Matt Nieto is, pulls up that quick Phil Kessler
can't put the brakes on and Matt steps up and snips a shorty and you're thinking alright
we're gonna win this game.
Maybe not, that's exactly what we were thinking.
Here we go midway into the third, hard work infront of Varly how about that, Hornquist
with the rebound, yeah and that's vintage shot, or vintage power play pardon me and
then there is Hornquist scoring a knuckle puck and Lauren here is the last one just
another bad deflection but there is the replay there, whenever you score on a power play
like that man in front that's how you get it done, here is the knuckle puck, see it
hit the ice right there and go right under the seven hole nothing you can do on that
play, maybe we'll get one last look watch this goes right between the legs of Kerfoot
and goes of his heel look at that thing it's spinning like a tub, how do you stop that.
The twentieth fastest hat-trick in NHL history, the fastest in Pens history.
So that's why we say it's a bit of a lucky night for Hornquist he had what we call puck luck.
