Several sections of the forest are designated for horseback riders and off-road bicycles, while the southern two thirds of the park is designated for hikers only to preserve the quiet nature of San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park. The northern third of the park is equestrian, biker and hiker friendly. All horseback riders must carry proof of a negative Coggins test to ride the trails.
Off-road bicyclists have some of the best riding opportunities in the state. Four distinct trails and five connecting trails offers riders a wide variety of exciting adventures in various lengths and skill levels, so you're sure to find the perfect ride for you and your family.
All bike trails are single track trails with plenty of connections to tweak your ride just the way you want it. Many of the backwood trails are remote. It is suggested you bring a bike pump, basic bike tools and a spare tube should you find yourself with a flat tire miles from the parking areas and trailheads.
Hikers have three trails to choose from at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park. A one mile, five mile and six mile trail allows hikers to choose a trail that's perfect for their hiking skill level and length. Colored markers distinguish which trail you're on, so getting lost can prove to be difficult on these well manicured trails.
Equestrian trails in San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park offer a selection of mileage for horseback riders. Form the nearly four miles Cellon Trail which borders Cellon Creek to the almost five mile Turkey Creek Trail, horse riders are sure to find a trail that fits their agenda. Horse drawn carriages are also allowed on these trails for the perfect in family horse riding fun.
