My Top 10 Tips for Plannining a Disney World Vacation

Planning a Disney World vacation can be daunting. There is so much to do and see. But, if you do a little research ahead of time, you will find a vacation that is stress free and magical. Follow my 10 expert tips, and I will show you how to save money and avoid long lines with the Mouse.

Tip 1 - Look on the Internet for Deals: Sign up at www.Mousesavers.com for the latest Disney World deals. You will find everything here from hotel discounts to free Disney dining. The key is usually to book well in advance. You can also find the latest vacation savings at www.DisneyWorld.com.

Tip 2 - Decide what kind of hotel will fill your needs. I recommend staying on site whenever possible. Disney offers 4 room categories: Value, Moderate, Deluxe and Vacation Club. When you stay with Disney you are guaranteed entry into the parks, even if they reach capacity. As a guest, you get use of all Disney transportation. You will never have to use your car. You can also take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. This means when the parks are closed to the general public, one remains open one hour before the official opening and one stays open up to 3 hours after closing to resort guests.

Tip 3 - Decide how Many days you Plan on Visiting the Parks. The more days you visit the parks, the bigger the savings.

Tip 4 - Purchase one of the Disney Dining Options. There are 4 plans to choose from. Everything from counter service meals and snacks to table service meals and character meals can be included. This is also a great way to visit with the characters without waiting in long lines. They come to you for autographs and pictures instead of the other way around.

Tip 5 - Plan out Your Budget Ahead of Time. Let your family know how much they can spend on souvenirs before you leave home. This will help to avoid tears later. Decide if they can choose something every day, or just one item.

Tip 6 - Use fast Pass. Fast Pass will let you ride your favorite ride with little or no wait time. All 4 parks have Fast Pass for their big attractions. Fast Pass can now be used in the Magic Kingdom to visit with Mickey Mouse.

Tip 7 - Arrive to the Park of your Choice at Least one Hour Before Opening. By arriving early, you will save time waiting in lines. Also, each park has a daily opening ceremony that is a must see.

Tip 8 - Take Advantage of Extra Magic Hours. Magic Hours are a lifesaver. The parks are a lot less crowded, and can be enjoyed a lot more. If there was an attraction you missed earlier in the day, try it again.

Tip 9 - Bring Swim Proof Diapers for Little Ones. Even if you aren't swimming in a resort pool, bring water proof diapers anyway. All 4 parks have water areas for the kids. Water magically shoots up out of sidewalks, or from different spots throughout the parks. It's a great way to cool off.

Tip 10 - Don't Plan on Doing it all. Disney World is huge. I have been visiting the Mouse for over 38 years, and I still haven't done and seen everything. But, that's a good thing. It keeps you coming back!

Follow my 10 expert tips. I guarantee you will have a stress free, magical vacation with Mickey and all his friends.
