Activities on Wisconsin's Castle Rock Lake

Castle Rock Lake and the surrounding areas is the perfect spot to experience the best Wisconsin has to offer. Whether you are a fisherman or a person that loves to kayak, you can do it all on this great recreational lake.

Castle Rock Lake is Wisconsin's 4th largest lake measuring at 16,640 acres. It has approximately 60 miles of shoreline that that is home to some of the best parks and campsites Wisconsin has. The maximum depth of the lake is only 36 feet. But it is home to pike, perch, bass, walleye and many other fish making it a great lake to fish on.

Along the shoreline, there are also many great parks that you can explore. One of my favorite parks to go to is Buckhorn State Park. A 4,500 acre park filled with beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife. There is a great 3 mile nature trail that you have to check out. They also have 45 campsites there where you can stay at. Most of the sites are located right by the water. The cool part is that you can use you boat to haul all of your camping gear to your site! It saves time and effort trying to carry it all to your site,

Also along the shorelines are many campgrounds. The one I really enjoy staying at is Castle Rock County Park. They have 300 campsites located on 160 acres of land. They have a great clean beach area for swimming, nice modern showers and bathrooms, a playground, a boat dock, shelter areas, grills, concession stands and lots of nature trails to walk on. The park is very well kept and has some great scenery to enjoy. For more information you can call them at 608-339-4277.

Besides all the camping and lake activities, the area also has great golf courses. Timber Shores is a great one to try out. it is a replica golf course that has 18 championship holes inspired by courses that the pros play on. Timber Falls is the only replica golf course in the Midwest. The scenery there is breathtaking and the prices are average for Wisconsin. The employees are extremely helpful and the grounds are very well kept. It is a great course to golf at.

No matter what you want to do you can find it somewhere in the area. If not Wisconsin Dells is only 45 minutes away. There you can go to experience tons of water parks, go cart tracks, lots of roller coasters and park rides, and anything else you can think of. It is a giant playground for people of all ages. So if you are looking for a great outdoor getaway, check out the Castle Rock Lake Area.
