Winter is fast approaching, and if you're looking to take a vacation, the time is here to make plans. Finding a great winter vacation spot can be difficult, but the three ideas below will certainly not disappoint.
New York - What winter vacation list would be complete without a mention of the Big Apple? No matter the time of year, New York is a city full of life and things to do. In December, though, New York becomes a place like no other. If you're looking for a quick, weekend getaway, New York is the place for you. There is no shortage of things to do, and all are relatively inexpensive if not free. Check out the world's most famous Christmas tree, visit the ice skating rink, or explore the many other things the city has to offer. Depending on where you're travelling from, a trip to New York can either be very expensive or relatively cheap. Air fare can be expensive around December, but once you're in the city there's plenty of free things to do. More than likely, the cost of your hotel and meals will be the largest expense.
Australia - When one thinks of a winter vacation, he doesn't often think of taking a trip to Australia. However, if your goal is to get away from the cold, Australia may be an idea for you to look in to. Australia's seasons are reversed from the United States', and you can enjoy beautiful locations, an incredible culture, and a very moderate climate. Much like New York, there's no shortage of things to do in Australia. Take a visit to many of the one-of-a-kind locations - the Sydney Opera House, Blue Mountains, Bondi Beach, or one of the many others - and escape the winter chill. A trip to Australia is not cheap, and you should expect to pay heftily for air fare. Hotels can be relatively inexpensive, but food and drinks will not be - especially alcohol.
Orlando, Florida - If you have kids, this may be the spot for you. As everyone is aware, Orlando is home to Walt Disney World and booking travel plans will be fairly inexpensive. Florida also boasts some of the best winter weather in the U.S. - at least if you're not a huge fan of the cold. Aside from Disney World, there's a ton of other fun, kid-friendly parks and places to visit. You can even book a room at many of them. Again, travel prices are relatively cheap. Depending on where you stay, you can expect to spend a good amount of money on a hotel. Either way, there's no doubt that you'll have the time of your life!
