Petty crime is common in Malaysia. Snatch and grab attacks happen frequently. Every week some people affected by such incidents. Their valuables and passports were stolen – therefore please walk on the footpath and don’t leave you bags dangling off your bodies or prams.
You should not carry too much cash as this could be too tempting for a thief. If your passport is lost or stolen please contact your Embassies they can assist you with an application for a new passport.
Drink spiking also happens in Malaysia and some traveller have been affected. They become conscious and they were robbed. Please don’t leave your drink unattended or accept drinks from strangers.
We strongly recommend you to purchase travel insurance because medical costs can be expensive in Malaysia
