many million people have a great and safe holiday here every year. If you are planning a road trip through New Zealand a few things to be aware of.

New Zealand travel Note |
Some of the road are narrower and windier than we are used to in your country and certainly the snow, and ice and strong winds can make for treacherous driving particularly if you are hiring a campervan or an RV. Of course, keep your eyes on the road - not on the fantastic scenery that you are driving through.
And your driving licence - no problem for 12 months - you don`t need to do anything other than use your licence here in New Zealand.
If you are going to undertake some wild or adventure sports like those around here in Lake Taupau. Please, do be prepared - do take enough warm clothing - the weather can change really quickly and you, of course, you need to have enough water for the duration that you are away. Follow the danger signs and stick to paths where it says so. There is a danger sign here behind me and we have some people die every year, unfortunately, from falling or falling down hills in areas where there is signage to try - try and keep people safe.
Alcohol and water sports here in New Zealand really do not mix - the water here is very cold and we unfortunately do have people drown from time to time. Usually when alcohol is involved in some way Always let people know where you are going to be.
You do need to contact the New Zealand Government before you leave your country. They will be able to advise you possibly issue a visa in advance or advise you on your travel details. That will avoid the embarrassment and potential hassles of being detained in New Zealand when you arrive here. Make sure if you do have convictions, you tick that box on the form that says you did have previous convictions. I think New Zealand is fantastic and you’ll have a great time. And don't forget buy insurance before trip.
