Yellowstone National Park, Full of Family Activities, Beauty and History

People love to travel to places that are family oriented. Places that have activities the whole family can enjoy are the ones most visited. Yellowstone National Park is family oriented and visited by many families yearly.


Yellowstone National Park is full of beauty and history. The Yellowstone history dates back over 11,000 years. Native Americans used the land to settle down, hunt and for transportation. Today people preserve Yellowstone and its history.



Planning a visit to Yellowstone National Park is simple. There are many things activities families enjoy when visiting. Some of the activities include hiking, camping, boating, bicycling and fishing. Other activities include, horseback riding, Llama packing, tours, ranger LED programs and much more. There will never be a dull moment when visiting Yellowstone National Park.



Yellowstone National Park is open year round with lots of winter activities. Schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions.



Fees and reservations to Yellowstone are not very expensive for families who want to enjoy all that nature has to offer. Entrance fees start at $25 for noncommercial vehicles and $20 for motorcycles and snowmobiles. The entrance fee for visitors on foot, bike or ski and less than 16 years old is $12. These fees are for seven-day permit to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.



An annual $50 pass for families who visit frequently is available. The annual pass is valid for twelve months. An interagency $80 annual pass is valid for twelve months. This pass allows entrance to federal recreation across the country.



Seniors have the option of $10 passes for people 62 and up. This is a lifetime pass meaning you never pay again for entrance.



The fees associated with commercial visitors are not bad. For a motor coach, carrying 26 or more the fee is $300. A minibus carrying 16 - 25 people is $200 and a van carrying 7-15 people is $125. A sedan with 1-6 people is $25. These fees are not per person it is for the vehicle.



Dining in Yellowstone National Park is simple but elegant. Dress is casual or upscale. Yellowstone offers dining rooms, deli, grill and a bakeshop. There is plenty to choose from when dining at Yellowstone.



Lodging comes in a winter and summer package deal starting at $1,119 per adult double occupancy. Packages include a five-night stay, park transportation, welcome gift, park guide and four breakfasts, lunches and one dinner per person.
